Sport Seasons

LeBron’s new Nike commercial received positive feedback on Twitter yesterday.  It has humor, a few digs, and of course – new shoes.   The question repeated is “What should I do?”.  But of course, it’s a Nike commercial, so the answer is always “Just Do It.”

The commercial is well done, but does it change your opinion?   What do you think?

Caleb Brown is two years old.  He was critically injured by a falling rock at Fall Creek Falls a little over one week ago.  He has been in critical condition at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital since the injury.  Caleb’s Uncle, Thomas Brown, is a special part of our Sport Seasons family.  We are all pulling for Caleb’s recovery, and supporting Thomas and the Brown family in any way we can.  You can keep up with Caleb’s progress on his Facebook page.

Caleb’s Run, a 5K walk/run, has been organized to raise funds for Caleb’s trust.  Mark your calendars for November 13th, 9am, and plan your quick trip to Alexandria, TN.  Alexandria is a little less than an hour east of Nashville.  The race is a family event, all ages will enjoy running or walking the route.  Entry fee is $10, with all proceeds going to Caleb’s trust.     It’s a great way to show your support for Caleb and the Brown family.  A Facebook page has also been set up for Caleb’s Run.

Adidas has designed some really cool Manning and Berry Tennessee tees.   Most styles won’t be in our stores until closer to Thanksgiving, but you can pre-order on our website.

Tennessee and adidas announced yesterday that the Vols will sport some new football jerseys on October 23rd when they host Alabama at Neyland Stadium.

According to adidas, the TECHFIT jersey is a “complete reconstruction” of its football uniform. Using a streamlined fit, new fabric, reduced seams and an “ultra lightweight” name and numbering system, the new jersey weighs 30 percent less than traditional jerseys.

One of the advantages of the compression fit is that there’s no extra material for opponents to grab or hold, and it also helps with range of motion and comfort for the players on the field.

“The new TECHFIT jersey design will make old jerseys obsolete,” adidas director of football and team sports Mark Daniels said in a release. “adidas is changing the game with this revolutionary jersey construction and compression fit because we know the right gear can make a difference during a split-second play. Less material and a tighter fit means the jersey is harder to grab, and you can’t tackle what you can’t grab.”

Pretty awesome.

Finally!  The Nashville Predators hit the ice this Saturday against the Ducks.  Puck drops at 7pm, and the pre-game party starts at 4pm.
