Tonight, our Nashville Predators host the Tampa Bay Lightning in an intradivisional game. While it will be an exciting matchup for Preds fans as the Lightning are currently on top of the Central Division, there is an extra level of excitement because tonight will be the first game of the season featuring the Nashville Predators in their Reverse Retro uniforms!
For the 2021 season, the NHL and Adidas collaborated to create Reverse Retro uniforms which is a way to reincorporate throwback uniforms, but with a twist! For the Predators, their Reverse Retro uniform takes it back to the inaugural 1998 season with a unique, speedy-looking number design and the original Nashville Predator logo that sits large across the chest. The shoulders are taken up by the Predator skull design that was used in variations consistently from 1998 until 2010. The twist with this new Nashville Predators jersey comes with the gold that is used as the main color to make the uniform stand out from any of its original predecessors and cause it to really pop on the ice!
Tonight will be the first of six games that the Predators wear their Reverse Retro jerseys this season. After tonight, the Preds will play in Reverse Retro jerseys on February 15th at the Dallas Stars, March 6th against the Florida Panthers, March 23rd vs the Detroit Red Wings, April 4th against the Chicago Blackhawks, and finishing it up on April 6th at the Detroit Red Wings.
If you don’t have your Reverse Retro jersey just yet, there is still time to grab one before the next Reverse Retro game at the Dallas Stars one week from today!
