A Look Back

Last year, the Titans had a phenomenal season, going 11-5 and winning the AFC South division for the first time since 2008. Though they lost in the first round to the red-hot Baltimore Ravens, last season showed them they have much to look forward to in 2021-22.

Key Games in 2021-22

This year, the Titans schedule is packed with tons of exciting matchups that are sure to make this season a season to remember. This is the first season in NFL history that the league’s teams will play 17 games instead of the usual 16. They will face each of their division rivals twice, facing the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 and 8, the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 and 14, and the Houston Texans in Week 11 and 18. Other key matchups include playing the 2020 American Football Conference Champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 and rival Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15. The Titans will also face the Buffalo Bills, who were 13-3 in 2020-21, in Week 6 on ESPN’s Monday Night Football at Nissan Stadium and the Los Angeles Rams (10-6 in 2020-21) on NBC’s Sunday Night Football in California in Week 9.

Key Players in 2021-22-

The usual contributors of 2020 AFC Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Henry, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and wide receiver A.J. Brown all return to the team hoping to power their dominant offense to another great season. The biggest news of the offseason was the team trading for Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones, who is sure to make an immediate impact. Defensively, safety and MTSU product Kevin Byard and linebacker Rashaan Evans are some other key names to keep an eye on. The Titans also hope cornerbacks Caleb Farley and Elijah Molden, who they drafted in 2021, will also make an impact defending their endzone.
